Essential Oil Throat Blends

This might be one of my most practical natural wellness recipes! It’s easy and it actually doesn’t taste bad. It helps me out whether I’m fighting seasonal or environmental threats – or if I just have no idea what I’m dealing with and I need some extra support! This essential oil throat blend is sure to be one of your new favorites. If you prefer a spray over a syrup, try my Throat Spray recipe below.

Note: Not all Essential Oils are created equally. Do your research! 100% Pure does not mean that you are getting a high quality essential oil. My family chose doTERRA essential oils because of their high Certified Pure Tested Grade standards. It’s the only brand of essential oils I would consider using internally.

Essential Oil Throat Spray

Sometimes you might not want a throat syrup and would prefer a throat spray instead. It’s also a nice option to have on-the-go! You can keep a bottle of your homemade throat spray in your purse or bag. I find both recipes to be extremely soothing and effective. I don’t prefer one over the other when it comes to effectiveness.

Essential Oil Throat Spray Recipe

  • Glass Spray bottle
  • Water
  • 10-15 drops Frankincense
  • 10-15 drops OnGuard
  • 10-15 drops Lemon
  • 10-15 drops Peppermint

Add all the essential oils to your glass spray bottle. Add less or more essential oils depending on the size of your spray bottle and the strength that you prefer. I generally use one drop of each essential oil per 1 ounce of water!
Fill the rest of the bottle with water, shake before each use.

Optional: Get a hand dandy throat spray topper for your glass bottle. They are a cheap add on at essential oil supply stores and it’s so convenient!

      1. I just made a tea… careful of your lips when you drink as peppermint likes to tingle.
Not bad tasting at all – I did increase the honey to a tablespoon.

    1. I would be comfortable using this recipe on my child at 13. I reduce the recipe for my preschoolers though – they get just honey and lemon essential oil.
