Top Healthy Ingredients for Smoothies

We’ve started making smoothies everyday and I feel SO much better because of it. Plus I know how good it is for the baby I’m growing in my belly.

I try really hard to pack my smoothies with as much as I can. I try to keep the fruit content lower because I don’t want too much sugar. I never ever add a fruit juice – that’s all the sugar minus the fiber. What fruit I DO add is strictly to make all the greens I pack into the shake that much more delicious.

Smoothies should be SO much more than just blended fruit and ice – they should be a lot more than that. I like to add ingredients with fat, omegas, grasses, proteins, and more.

I make my smoothies a little different everyday because I think variety is important. While I’d love for one smoothie to contain everything I could ever want, that’s just not realistic. But having a different recipe each day gives me the variety I see should in my diet.
